Halves of a Heart

My emotions pull me in different directions
I'm caught up in the idea of us
So scared of letting myself love you
Because it would be so easy
For you to just walk out on me
Once I give my heart to you
There's no taking it back
I will love you with the pieces I still have
I know love it's just a fairytale
But it sure feels good
To make a story with you
Trust is like a Rubik's cube
Can't solve the puzzle
Without every side
My thoughts are up in the air
And I'm singing out for you to hear
Because it would be so easy
For you to just walk out on me
Once I give my heart to you
There's no taking it back
I will love you with the pieces I still have
I know love it's just a fairytale
But it sure feels good
To make a story with you
I could say I love you
But the words from my lips
Seem so understated
My mind is running in circles
And I can't keep my feet on the ground
Once I give my heart to you
There's no taking it back
I will love you with the pieces I still have
I know love it's just a fairytale
But it sure feels good
To make a story with you
Oh oh oh oh
When everything else has fallen
You and I will be two halves of a heart
So please, don't walk out on me.
