Happenstance and Serendipity

Happenstance and Serendipity

Happenstance and serendipity
Have often been kind to me,
Leading to so many joys
As I take life’s long journey.
Whether trying a new restaurant
Or making some new friend
I usually leave it up to chance
And it works out in the end.

I’ve had my share of bad mistakes
And choices that went wrong,
But often times its came out well
As if planned out all along.
A bakery in Monterrey
When stopping to get a bite,
Or a hotel down in Florida
Where we can rest at night.

Retirement and major plans
I try to plan out in advance,
But when it comes to smaller things
I trust in happenstance.
Which road we take, where we eat
I don’t leave up to me;
I’ve found that I do quite well
With Serendipity.
