Happiness?

Remember all that happiness we used to have so much of?
Like small children chasing after impossible magical butterflies
Like bright starlit midnights filled with cricket's song
Like everlasting summer love with passion heavy as heat
Do you remember all that happiness we used to have so much of?

That happiness that came before all the self doubt and harm
Before all the childhood nightmares turned morbidly into realities
Before fairies were fake, heaven a hoax, and prayer unprecious
Do you remember all that happiness we used to have so much of?

That happiness we had so much of - it all had been so pure
Complex and thrilling like a tickle in the stomach unleashed
Simplistic and joyous like a laugh lost to the wind unbound
Do you remember all that happiness we used to have so much of?

All that happiness that was once possessed has dwindled long ago
Bit by bit, piece by piece it slipped and passed away
A piece lost to a stolen love, a heart break fair and square
A piece stolen to innocence in a moment of hurried kisses
A bit lost to maturity, baby eyes open and wide with knowing
A bit to the world of thoughts and dreams diluted and ignored
Do you remember all that happiness we used to have so much of?

All that happiness comes hard to remember its been gone so long
All that happiness we used to have that came before the lies
All that happiness we used to have that came before the hurt
All that happiness we used to have that came before the suffering
All that happiness we used to have that came before the lonesome
Do you remember all that happiness we used to have so much of?

All that happiness we once possessed that seemed all impossible
All that happiness we once possessed that seemed so false and fake
All that happiness we once possessed almost seems to never have existed
All that happiness we once possessed seems so hard to remember

Do you remember all that happiness we used to have so much of?
Ya, me neither
