Happy birthday

Last week was your birthday.
Another year has passed,
and I miss you just the same.

I should of spoke up,
when I met you at the bar.
We could have more time together.

But the time we had,
I will always treasure.

You taught me much,
you taught me how to love,
you taught me to care,
you taught me to nurture myself,
you taught me I could be more,
then I ever thought.

But the time we had,
I will always treasure.

The dj must of known,
he was playing all our songs.
I went past you grave,
the first time sense you passed.
If only the rain could bring you back to us.
I wouldn't be stuck wondering.
Like Orpheus I would come to get you.
Stare Hades down and chain up Cerberus.
But that is just a myth,
so I will say my goodbyes.

Happy birthday to you.
