Happy Holiday

For today will not be a day of just giving
But appreciating one another
Material can't buy you love
Material can't buy you health
Embrace everyone around you
Smile at them
Make them feel special
For they are going through something
You can't even imagine
Their hearts full of sorrow
Reach within their souls
Heal their hearts
For they will scream for glory
And when you shall walk
You will give thanks
That they smiled for they have
Been touched by your presence and beautiful smile.

This Poems Story

I am thrilled to say that I am thirty-five years old and a mother of two, Victoria and Mathew Rodriguez. I am 100% Puerto Rican born and raised in Miami. What inspired me to write poetry was when my father passed at the age of fifty-eight, almost one year ago. He left me such a wonderful poem saying his goodbyes. Ever since I would wake up in the morning clear minded and let my emotions on a sheet of paper. It was so pure for me to write during those conditions, because I was able to send my message across to people that I cared so dearly. For this I write today.
