Hard Times, Better Days

With a heart full of hope and a mind full of dreams,
There's much more to me than it seems.
My dark hair and brown eyes, my skin of earthy color,
A Puerto Rican father and Filipino mother.

Working so hard only to be broke as hell,
Living with barely anything is a reality I know too well.
My clothes are not designer brands, my home is broken down,
But regardless of my adversities you will never see me frown.

The world sees me for my outwardly awkward flaws,
But God sees my heart and knows I show love to all.
I set my goals on living in humility and helping others,
Even though I have a long list of my own personal troubles.

Peace be the journey through this crazy life,
Achieve and overcome your struggle and strife.
Let those of us that are invisible be seen and speak loud,
Be a firm believer in yourself and forever stand your ground.
