Harlem Johnson

Come into my crib Harlem Johnson
I'll open the door and let you in
Bring your shiny brass saxophone
with it's ebony ebony piece
I've got my burnished bronze trumpet
I've got my piece too
We'll play some jazz
We'll make peppery cinnamon notes
dance against the walls
We'll send sticky smooth molasses riffs
Out the window
Down Lennox Avenue
To let people know we're playin'

We'll reach the top
Then we'll grease warm fatty ribs together
Drink the juice of juicy greens
Suck chicken bones down to their final sweetness

We'll play through the night
Then out the door
Down the stairs
onto the stoop
To jazz the sun back into the sky
