Haunting Memories

A gust of memories
haunting the ever racing mind
with so many distractions at hand
the memories is where she lands
days pass
questioning how much longer this will last
Unfinished projects
an unsettled soul
this is where she's dug her hole
the busy world around her
she gazes in awe
she's yet to be free
such talent being put to waste
spending her days on the mindless chase
empty bottles scattered among the floor
sketches and stories she's pushed out of the door
dawn rises
she takes her last sip
weak legs carry her to the door
foggy eyes see a new day
soon the poision of the memories will set in
once again
