Haunting My Mind

As I close my eyes tonight
I know that you will be my first sight
The pain in my heart will disappear
Only in the morning to once again be here
Because living your dreams
Is not always as easy as it seems
When my heart calls your name
And yours will never feel the same
I tell myself it will be the last time
Your face haunts my mind
I am proven wrong
When I hear your voice that appears as a song
If it were up to me
I would have left the thought of you lost at sea
I have no control
Resulting in my heart yearning to be whole
You got through the gates without a fight
The guard was too distracted by the sight
I read the warning label
Then proceeded to put it all out on the table
You would think I would learn
Yet every night I return
In an illusion where I meet your blue eyes
To a place you love me, even if all lies
