Haven

Sunshine in the distance,
Colourful glance.
I wish to dance within your rays,
I wish to take flight.
The world down here has never been kind to me,
I wonder if there is another,
That would welcome me with open arms,
There above the clouds.
Can I soar into the horizon?
And land upon a haven,
Will I find myself in such delight?
Such as I never have before.
Can I walk upon an open sky?
And rest my head upon a star,
Can I glide serenely across it’s empty vastness?
Feeling fuller than I have my entire life.
Yes, I know I might be alone,
But at least I shall have peace,
For all the demons and monsters that haunt me,
Shall stay beneath this glee.
