He Doesn’t Love you

Each memory of you leaves me with my eyes closed
My cheek sinking into your chest
Your chin laid upon my head
Your arms wrapped around my shoulders with your hands melting to my sides
He doesn't love you

As tears roll down my face a glimpse of your smile leaves me stuck in the past
You speak, I laugh, you laugh
Our hands gravitate towards one another then pull back
Breathing in, we both realize this moment was only a glimpse of the past
He doesn't love you

I stare into our children's eyes feeling bittersweet about how they became mine
Gentle kisses from a man they see so strong, they refuse to let you put them down
Hand in hand, these beautiful children of ours lead me through the door of our home
Suitcase in hand I pause, hesitant to leave you behind
Breathe in, breathe out
He doesn't love you
