He Who Wears His Shadow

Be not beguiled
by my lover's Cheshire grin
Let not the light
in eyes that dance as his
blind you from the
darkness, nurtured in he

Be not damned, son
by my lover's gay song
and touch not the
black ice over his heart
with gentle hands
for thaw in time it shan't

Be not deceived
by my lover's prowess
let not his dance
turn a devil's horned head
into that porcelain
of an angel
