Heartbeats of Life!

Breathing baby gently as it sleeps,
Nearing a moments wake when it will make a peep,
HEARTBEATS of birth as it dreams so deep.

Youth down the streets they speed, running to play,
Frolicking in the breath of winds, never a care to bare,
HEARTBEATS of growth, bringing along many a new day.

Lovers hand in hand, only each others eyes to see,
New passions to discover as each will be,
HEARTBEATS of love, to a discovery of thee.

Wars and discord go on and on, when is there peace to fathom?
Mysteries unfold, questions of why?
HEARTBEATS of suffering, oh the sighs!

The elderly look around at what life has treasured thee,
Was this all there was meant to be?,
though blessed it was given to me.
HEARTBEATS of aging, all was meant to see.

God gave us life, reasons of his own,
We live, struggles and moans,
Joy, hope, and faith,
Knowing in his hand we are safe!
