Hearts Fade, Love Changes

I guess hearts tend to fade away like the sidewalk chalk
on a rainy day,
I guess love tends to change its mind
like an old man slowly turns unkind,
There was a time you were like a canvas I first saw,
This canvas I soon withdraw,
But at first I sat my eyes,
Upon a surprise that became my satisfaction,
I traced my fingertips along this new sight,
And sure it gave me a thrill of excite,
But that's what experiencing new things do right?

Like sidewalk chalk on a rainy day my heart began to fade away,
Like an old man slowly turns unkind,
My love began to change its mind,
My consciousness was then aligned,
As I traced my fingertips along the rigid and bumps of imperfection,
I realized I had more of a selection.
