Heartstrings

Every note and the strings between
entangled around my heart
intertwined within their own threads
they tease me
stretching and
pulling me
I fear I might snap.

Pushing limits I never knew existed
until a new one has formed.
Strings pulled so tight they sing or scream
I cannot tell.
Either way, I fell.
Allowed the chords to be plucked and tuned
'til you heard the song of my heart
pour itself out for only you to hear.
