Heaven at Long Last

I rest in Heaven at long last
The tomorrows of my life now past.
Do not cry for me; do not shed your false tears,
For now my soul is awakened.
The storms of my life now forgotten,
Sickness, pain and death I fear no more.
For sorrow and grief taught me forgiveness and mercy
Thanks to you, my faith has never wavered.
For my fight with death and sin
Has at long last joined us together
Called home before me my son,
Lost I have been.
That cold grey stone, that bears witness to our life
Written with the words loving son and father
Sit side by side with yours on that cold hard ground.
Now by God's almighty grace
My broken heart he made clean,
And renewed within me the spirit of love and forgiveness,
For now we are joined forever!
Once in life now in death.
No more pain, no more grief,
The storms of my life now past.
My burdens entrusted to your care
Through Heaven's gates, we meet again
My soul complete, at last, I rest.
