Heavy Heart

Traveling on a curvy, bumpy road
With lots of valleys and little peaks.
Feeling lost and alone
While tears stain my cheeks.

Feeling completely surrounded
By tall, thick walls made of stone.
The loneliness making me cold
Chilled all the way to the bone.

Losing all control of my emotions
As I feel happy, angry, and sad at the same time.
Ashamed of my feelings and thoughts
As if I'm committing some horrible crime.

Unsure of where this beaten path is leading me.
Fighting with my fears
As I try to stay even when I want to flee.

Crying, I clasp my hands
And fall to my knees
Praying to God
Show me the light, please!
