Held In Dark

Light passed for the realm of pure black
Held in the dark and vanished in fumes
Its sacrifice forgotten and unkempt
Calm soul and bold heart cower to naught
As cold pain deepens the absence
As bones splinter flesh within
As eyes shut to cover tears
The life bows to the grave
And yields to fate
For the night
Before
Won
