Herbal Fruit Potpourri

A soft autumnal pile
Of dried vegetation
White and green
Sat upon the dish

Made of gilt ceramic
Colored like dragons
With fish-like scales
Shifted in the breeze
Of blue evening
Far beneath
A grey streaked sky
And its fragrance
Was memorable
And prize-winning,
Filled with cloves
And anise and rose hips,
Purple pansies
And violets
That were medallions
In a crowd
Of mixed ethnicity -
Because leaves
Of kefir limes
Were there,
And Mediterranean lemons
In slices,
And white chocolate kisses
Flirted with the night
With many a
Smooth move
And heady hint
Of Heaven
In that carnival
Of fruits and herbs,
Among seasonal music
That changed
According to artistic taste.
