Here Lies Me

But these thoughts won't cease to bleed.
I feel rather dull
And completely in need
To rid myself of these things.
Take the time
To show no effort.
Fake my life
To convince you I'm getting better.
'Cause I'm only a whisper
Getting lost among the chatter.
I can conjure up laughter
But they're all laughing at me.
Nothing to lose sleep over
'Cause I won't be resting anyways.
A play on words is stamped across my face.
Doesn't mean I mean every single thing I say.
Like when it rains
And I tell you I wrap my mind in hate.
Truth is I get scared
And I can't force my mind to stay.
I'm all dried out
Questioning how
Only to discover
I'm no different from the others
Who feel miserable all the same.
Waited for a golden opportunity
But nothing ever came.
I bury myself in my writing
Until it becomes my grave.
