Hidden

I hide behind half smiles and laughter.
I don't want anyone to know about my pain.
Yet I carve it to my arm for the world to see.

I know myself better than anyone,
Yet I feel sometimes I don't know myself at all

My stories of pain and anguish are written in blood
Not the blood of my enemies, but the blood that runs through my veins.

People always tell me not to let them see me cry
That's why I hide behind half smiles and laughter.
