Hidden

Like a chest filled with old memories you are hidden away, forgotten
Closed, and locked away, shamed for being a memory
Still you once existed
Inside of me
My mind has shut you out
Too unbearable to uncover
But sometimes the memory reveals itself
And clearly, I remember that day
Scrambling
For answers, for comfort, for love
From her a strayed eye was all I received
Disappointment and frowns showed clear on her face
I never met her expectations
To some I was told I could never tell
Or I would be shunned away
A disappointment I was, a secret you still are
A dirty hotel for my broken heart
Watching you slip away from inside of me
I was led to believe I was not allowed to feel
For the occasion
Because to them you were a mistake
As so was I
So hidden away,
You will stay
