Hidden Beneath

Insatiable like an ice cream cone
on a hot summer day,
now you're just a marshmallow
melting away.
felt good sleeping on velvety sheets,
now I'm walking on coarse sand
hurting my feet.
used to be clear and vivid
like the blue flawless skies,
nothing but everlasting lies--
endless sighs,
fighting. dying.
hard to say good-bye.
sparkling like the finest bottle of champagne,
today I only hear
the gushing pouring rain.
deliciously sugary like the best cupcake picked
somehow I just flavor
your salty river lips.
enjoyed the romantic aromas of a worth's day spent,
today I only have memories with a sweet, melancholic scent.
