she wore long sleeves in the winter
they seemed longer in the summer
dark bruises on thighs fade from black
fade to blue, fade to nothing
fade to him
fingertips pressed against fingertips
until color faded away
and green met brown until a forest was built
scars became bracelets and lies became beautiful
and he became her new favorite color
