Holding Hands

Holding hands:
it's the act of intertwining trigger pullers,
poor shields from the morning light on the side walk
when you forget your sunglasses,
resume typers,
page turners of your favorite book,
tea cup holders on cold winter nights when your nose is red.

You bite their nails on the first day of school
and again on the day of your marriage.

When you hold another's, you're holding their only capability.
You’re holding 50% of their ability to do all those things,
but they're also holding yours.
