Hole in My Shadow

The Sun, she will not wait
That chariot of fate
Her rules are our rules
She destroys and she creates

I find her in the shadows
Sleeping in the pillows
Kiss her neck and shoulders
She's dreaming of the willows

There's a hole in my shadow
Where you should always be
There's a hole in my shadow
Oh, woman hear my plea

I will rise while you fall
As tides in ports of call
Does your moon wax or wane
And do your stars enthrall

You find me at the gallows
Swimming in the shallows
Lover I am nothing
With a hole in my shadow
