Holland, MI

The sea of green spreads across the horizon
As we make our way to the river.
The sky, the color of robins eggs spreads out
Like a blue, familiar blanket.
The bristle and buzz of the dancing stalks
Rampantly beating, like a swarm of bees.
The air, sweet and enchanting wraps like an embrace,
As our hair whips our cheeks in reply.
The ground looks soft, oh so soft, as if to call,
“Stay for a while, and rest in our arms,
Leave your worries behind in the dirt”
But alas, we trod slowly, slowly along, as the earth still hollers.
