Holocaust

I once knew a Jew, innocent and kind,
Forced to leave his family behind.
I once knew a Jew, happy not tearful,
But then he lived scared and fearful.

I only knew him in the camp,
But he is the one that I need to thank.
For he saved my life that day,
And I will always remember him that way.
