It all started off free and easy
World in my hands troubles beneath me

Wouldn't want it any other way
A sanctuary for my imagination to play

I was free to roam
A place forever to call home

Somewhere to go inside and hide
That simple house on the countryside

May be gone now
But no matter how

You can't burn the memories away
A special place in my heart they stay

That humble upbringing
Helped mold this man in the making

The sorrow turns to joy
As this man thinks back to that boy

It brings a smile to my face
Imagining I'm back at that place

Where the world was in my hands troubles beneath me
It was all free and easy
