Home Again

You pick me up from hell,
You bring me up to earth,
But with you it feels like heaven,
With you my soul has birthed!

I ask myself why,
Of all from earth, I'm blessed
To fall in arms like yours,
To lay with you in bed.

The hearts of heaven know
The wars my soul has faced;
I've been through pain and wonders,
I've been through loss and shame.

I never knew of love,
I never knew to tame
The anguish of my sorrows,
The knots within my chains.

You've taught me to see how
There are blessings in every shade,
That there is hidden love in all,
And that miracles work with faith.

With you I feel the freedom,
The birthright of every man;
With you my heart is whole,
With you I'm home again.
