Homecoming Dance


Every time she deletes his phone number, he always comes back.
He’s not the same person he was.
His future was full of promise, she planned to be there for it.

Now she is.
In a fractured way.
When he’s fallen to pieces.

Nowhere near how she had imagined.

26 at his grandma’s house, still trying to finish college.
