Homecoming

My world was misty;
I felt so lost and confused.
I took a trip to change my world,
not knowing what else to do.
It changed my life for sure,
that trip more than twenty years ago.
It changed my life and made it good,
but the past began calling my name.
I tried to come home to yesterday,
but the past has no memory of me.
Now I am stuck in limbo,
unsure of who I should be.
I heard stories of the road not taken,
so I decided to check it out.
I liked it fine, it was good for a time,
but now I can't go home.
