I walk on the edge of the shadows
I don't come in from the rain
I'm standing outside your window
you think I must be insane
I'm just as scared of you, as you are of me
there's no difference you see
for I was once like you, just living the dream
wasn't all that it seemed
it's so hard to take, living out on the street
barely shoes on my feet, 'cause there's no place like home,
unless home is no place, all I have is disgrace
forget what you have heard, "Work hard you'll succeed,"
is that what you believe?
just look into my eyes, right behind the tears
can you see what you fear.
