Honor Thy Father

Our Father is the head of our family
He went out in all types of weather just so his family could eat
But he didn't stop there he fed aunt, uncles and cousins too
Helping people was all he knew how to do
From changing tires to changing babies
He never fussed or grumbled he just would say God is able
When times got hard and things almost fell apart
He still would say God is able
When he exchanged vows with his wife after 50 years
Later, had to say good-bye with a tear
He still would say God is able
He's a man that walks with great stride
And can quote scriptures with tremendous pride
He gives of himself daily and ask for know pay in return
We thank him for the lessons learned
For a strong voice when needed and a good laugh on those rainy days
But most of all we thank him for the God we see in him
Cause without that he couldn't hold the greatest treasure of all
