Hope in Love

By Eunice

When writ, words fail to give truth to this life
I wish to live, my passions lead me to fail.
Bearing the weight of a mountain of strife
Wonder, to which sides will these bleak souls prevail?

When spoke, the voice only reaches so far
Alas, the meaning and purpose escape.
Barely eluding the devilish mar,
He, leaving me speechless, broken, agape.

Like a diamond, waiting to be made known,
Love, true love, purely waiting to be drawn.
Why then, does the tempest lure me alone.
My head knows the truth, but, my heart goes on.

What is the purpose? Just who is it for?
If only to me, but yet I abhor.
