Hot Shot

She is five years his junior
Five years his best
And she will never get out
of the life she gets.

He will never, with all his years
lorded over her - in all his experiences-
get her out
of the life she gets.

She will get that 'hotshot',
that one-in-a-million,
that will freeze Her in time,
Crystallize her youthful form in space,
And close those pale blue eyes in an
empty sea of blissfully, blind delight.

From her mouth come roses,
Her eyes: baby's breath-
But, from her veins come
poppies, as her flesh dawns its new epithet...

An immortal rigor mortis of
ALWAYS getting what one gets...
As her pale eyes,
her pale eyes are set.
