house for sale

house for sale, bank-owned
our loss another's gain

damn it, all's not our fault
injury no income

you could not stand the pain
understood, failure, let you down

wheel chairs and war wounds, diapers and wet sheets
protecting our country, no matter

healthy man enters, lean on his shoulders
strong and I am weak, no blame

no support for agent orange, never happened
foliage stripped from trees, life stripped from many

served proudly, no regrets
band of brothers, solid

loved our country, never wavered
killed some, watched some die

help me if you can, broke as hell
not much to look forward to, maybe tomorrow
