How Long Must I Walk?

how long must I walk along this lonely tier
making my way along the crags and lonely tears
is the travel that I accept keep me in the clear
will the stumbles that trip me begin to disappear
I will walk to the point reaching from above
putting my strength forward to continue without fear
a step and an other and an other I hold dear
for I know a flat spot will rise from this crooked stair
my journey is complete as I gaze upon her skin
her eyes have beckoned me to come within
as I rest my weariness upon her loving ways
a new strength has entered me, I'm ready for
each and every day...
