Human Crystal

fragile crystal
breaks if handled roughly
sharp edges where a cutting saw shaped its beauty
artistic etchings
by one who thought to enhance its natural beauty
nothing like its composition
from shifting sands of silica in heated blaze
and pain
to lovely glass
handle with care and gratefulness
to savour sweetness that it carries.
lock it in a cabinet
safely protected
from the self satisfied, self absorbed, righteousness
of those who would use it as a mug.
