Human Kindness

There are those who will not laugh
When you speak up for help.
They are not many, but they are there.
A force for good on the planet.

When you need a pure drink of water
They come to the rescue and open a spout.
They throw you some clothes off-rack.
They make food when you can't cook.

When you want to use your talents to serve,
They come forward with stories of woe.
Unimagined hardships, they have overcome-
Because beauty unfolds when life cracks.

Like the black patches in a sidewalk,
Holy ideas fill in empty places like rain-
Pure water fills a crevice in between solid blocks.
Holy Words only come when the Sprit satisfies.

Growth happens where you least expect.
Better to let the world guide you - go.
God's spirit leads human kindness
to keep reaching over the concrete.
