Sinking into the depths of the ocean,
Senses slowly seized into abeyance,
Mind looking back through the fabric of time,
The shine and it's warmth lost as we distance.
Her image swimming into perspective,
Like a last goodbye-I think of a word,
Used by everyone to lose meaning,
A sentiment with no need to be heard.
With my lungs in arrest-I'm regretting,
The days I made excuses for myself,
Not taking a risk or seeing a girl,
My story lies at the back of a shelf.
The shine returns as I begin to rise,
Am I saved from this blasted reflection?
I'll say I love her but be precautious,
I still do fear the face of rejection.
I have no complexion the light reveals,
Befuddled-I see below there's motion,
A pale corpse holding my identity,
Sinking into the depths of the ocean.
