People speak of humanity.
How can one speak of humanity?
We walk high and mighty talking of our deeds,
Criticizing those who show no "humanity" and "compassion."
Yet we walk by people every day who are starving, sick, and injured.
We preach to the world our compassion to others.
Yet we idly sit by while others beg for help.
We sleep comfortable in our homes,
While others freeze in the winter night air.
I ask again, how one can speak of humanity?
We keep living this fallacy and follow in our farcical thoughts,
We are oblivious to the destruction in this world.
Yet we preach and applaud ourselves as we walk by those in need.
So I ask again,
How can anyone speak of humanity?
