Humble Mother

The Humble Mother
So tall and so proud she stands
Many days and hours she longs to sit
And take a well-deserved rest
Her shoulders are so weighted down
With burdens of many nations and many worlds
But her burning heart and undying
Love will never allow this lady to take such a rest
Her spirit can never be broken
No matter how many times she's hit, she's
Rained upon, talked about sometimes good
And sometimes bad
She continues to hold her head high
And wear a smile for she is
The mother of billions and the sister of millions
She is the creator of one man's dreams and holds the key to another
Man's destiny
Forever she will remain standing so tall and forever
She will remain so proud
To this dear lady I take my hat off and gesture a bow (Statue of Liberty)
