Starry skies and starry eyes
Gleam over me like full moonlight
Unhurried talks by racing minds
Low pitched echoes of hindsight

Mellow haze shapes tempting cues
Current flows through faulty fuse
Much to feel and much to lose
Judgements rendered to no use

Slow dancing on a tightrope
Lights are out as flames are born
Hang on for dearest life
Cause songs are brief and ropes timeworn

High betting on low odds
Up in your room, down to the felt
Luck drawn by a blind god
You burn too hot you’ll only melt
