I Am A Part of An Infinite Galaxy

As I look up into the night,
the night seems still,
and appears
so dark, yet so bright.
For, the night is the moon,
and I am its shadow.
Placidity is at its finest.
Stillness and tranquility
fill the forest.
Yet the night is the moon,
and I am its shadow.
Much like the burning flames
and rocks of combustion
reflect upon my curious eye,
I reflect upon the bright moon.
Because I, like the forest,
am a part of the darkness.
Therefore, I am the moon’s shadow.
Humbled by the overwhelming
presence
of the sky above,
I step back to enjoy
my small presence
in an infinite galaxy.
