I Am A Rock

I have been under extreme pressure, and that is what made me strong,
I am shaped by my past,
and yet I can still be shaped any way you'd like,
I support churches, mosques, and hospitals,
but you will never hear me complain,
I pave the roads where you drive for vacation or work,
and occasionally I am uneven,
I skip across the water when you are bored,
I don't complain when you kick me across the parking lot,
I knock over cans in a show of skill amongst brothers and friends,
I've even hurt an animal or two in my time,
I have no eyes, yet I've seen some pretty dark times,
I have no ears, but I have listened to many creatures howl,
I have no soul, because I would weep for all your stress,
I can endure all this, and remain calm,
Now take a breath, and realize that you too are someone's rock.
