I Am a Shadow
I am a shadow,
Passing through this world,
Playing around with those who can see me,
But always wanting to be free.
What I do matters very little,
Until I change the lives of individuals,
Casting God's light upon them.
The cycle goes on and then,
I am static,
Asleep in the darkness
Letting Him mold me to His likeness.
He reminds me of who I am.
It is only through Him that I can
Be a shadow able to be felt,
And not in my own pride sit and melt,
Burning hot with my own desires;
No, instead I've got to start His fires.
And because I am a shadow,
Here only for a time,
I've got to make every moment rhyme.
