I Am a Vietnam Veteran

The nurse said I woke up yesterday
been in a coma for three months and a day
I have noticed my four limbs were gone
found my ring and a note saying we are done

Can't smile, I have no more lips
can't sit straight, I hurt my hips
forty percent of my body burned, including my face
back from space just to see you my grace

The last thing I saw was your Spanish eyes
I lived and fought for your love, for your lies
some say I did it for my country and freedom
today, I am a monster, a homeless without a kingdom

A fallen hero hiding in the shadow
my son still believes, soon shall look through the window
a Devil Doc had helped me made it to the Vatican
it is time for me to face him as a true American
