I Am From

I Am From
I am from the crazy streets of Waterville
to the serene streets of Winslow.
I am from a loving family and caring friends.

I am from telling myself I can do anything.
from confidence and the feeling of security.
… but these are all things I wish I was.

I am actually from …
I am from a period of happiness
to a eternity of depression.
from curiosity to never ending anxiety.
I am from trying to be perfect.

I am from not knowing who I am,
to confusion that flows through my body.
I am from worries and pains that I can’t get out of me.
from a life I don’t quite understand.

I am from all of these things that tear me down,
but I won’t let them do that anymore.
and yet, I wonder why I call this place home.
