I Am Grounded

The stems spreading through the bright green summer leaves,
Like the veins in my body.
The roots of the old giant oak tree spread out,
deep into the earth's soil.
My feet planted onto mother earth
feeling her warmth and soul reaching into mine.

The leaves inhaling the air from my lungs that the trees provided me.
Sun sparkling the crystal clear river watching it flow
its journey along the rocks,
mirroring the beauty all around, my reflection.

Walking with my higher power, side by side,
old fall leaves crunching,
fragile twigs snapping beneath my feet,
soft blue Kentucky grass tickling my ankles.

I am grounded. I am me. I am pure and perfect love.

This Poems Story

The past 7 years of my life I had struggled with addiction. I suffered emotional, physically, mentally and most of all spiritually. I experienced true darkness and pain. I wanted to change my life, I desired so much more for myself. I wanted to live. I turned my life around. I found my higher power, my true inner self. I discovered the simple amazing beauty all around me. I found the beauty within myself. I never felt more alive and connected to all around me. This world was created for us to love and live fully to our true beings. When I look at the world around me I see myself within, pure and beautiful.
